South Florida Commuter Services (SFCS), a program of the Florida department of Transportation (FDOT), recognizes its obligation to its registrants, community and online visitors to adhere to the highest standards of decency, fairness, and integrity. Likewise, SFCS is dedicated to protecting consumer privacy.
Gathering and Use of Information:
SFCS collects personal information from our visitors on a voluntary basis only. We do not require this information for customers to obtain information about our programs or services. However, in order to participate in some of the programs offered by SFCS, you may have to provide personal information. These programs are described in more detail below. Except as explained below, personal information received from any commuter will be used for internal purposes only and will not be sold or provided to third parties.
Any personal information submitted to this database will be used by SFCS to provide registrants with information on potential carpool and vanpool partners. This information will be used only to help match registrants with others who are interested in sharing a ride. All private, personal information is accessible only by SFCS. If personal information is to be used for any other purpose, it will be indicated to you before you submit your information.
Other SFCS Programs:
Other than the RidePro registration, personal information including your name, address, phone number, and email is collected as part of the registration process. This may include carpool registration, Emergency Ride Home Program registration, incentive program registration, contest entry, joining our email list, internal marketing use, as well as requests for information. In some cases, if your registration makes you eligible for additional programs and/or benefits provided by SFCS, you will automatically be enrolled to participate. Only those people who ask to be added to our email list or who request information will receive e-mail communications from SFCS. We also offer an “opt-out” feature that allows you, at any time, to have SFCS discontinue e-mail communications.
As in our other business operations, SFCS approaches our communications with respect for, and commitment to, individual privacy rights, concern, and respect of participants and registrants. We support active self-regulation of this new environment to ensure that responsible marketers can maintain the right to use all communication media to interact with its consumers.
